HISTORY

BTMI was founded in 2006 with its founding chairman Capt. Jovencio C. Lopez and was previously run by its President and General Manager, Capt. Jose Maria L. Lopez, an experienced Master Mariner who is one of the pillars of BTMI. It started as an extension of Sea Sunshine Shipping, Inc. It was established to serve Far East Vessels, Fishing Vessel, Bulk Carriers, Wood chips Carrier, General Cargo, and Pure Car Carriers.

Through the years, BTMI continues to promote Filipino seafarers of their excellent work, efforts, and qualities of values. We believe in investing in our competent seafarers and our energy for growth. We always believe that working as a team plays a major role in attaining excellence. With these beliefs, founded in the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, business excellence is the mark or symbol of genuineness or high quality of our success. The Management / Executive Committee is the core of success and operation of the Company. It serves as the governing body of the organization taking important role in decision and policy making. Accordingly, it operates to administer and direct the business activities of the company, exercising appropriate leadership to ensure commitment, support and participation of all departments, provides guidance and support to all department in the strategy and development of the company’s standard operating procedures, implement corporate plans and design feasible programs for the attainment of BTMI’s corporate goals and objectives.

OPERATIONS
DEPARTMENT

The Operations Department serves as the crew recruitment machinery of the organization, in terms of crew services and management. It plays the most vital role in the business operations by way of maintaining good communications with all of BTMI’s principals, insuring always to adhere with the recruitment and policies in supplying competent crew for the principals’ satisfaction, and maintaining the good corporate image of the company with all its principals, crew and their respective families as well as with the manning industry. The success of the manning business relies on the good performance exemplified by this department.
